The Moreton Bay Fig Tree is one of the most remarkable living landmarks in San Diego’s Balboa Park, an enormous Australian tree that has been part of the park’s history for more than a century. As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series and Maui Desire Romance Series, I’ve spent decades exploring San Diego, and I remember visiting this magnificent tree when I was a little boy. It’s one of those special places…

I just saw it earlier today and despite living in San Diego for 17, this is the first time I've ever actually seen this tree in person and she is one grand old lady. I'm so glad she's being so well cared. 😍🌳🏞️

Enjoy the story of the big fig tree, Pride of the Urban Forest. Take time to sit in the wood slat bench for a relaxing moment. Worth a stop during your trip to Balboa Park. Accessible entry. Accessible restrooms in central area. Accessible van parking in free lot that fill up fast.
