Privacy policy

Last updated 3 November 2026. What we collect, why, who sees it and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Theo Pros (theopros.com, app.theopros.com and api.theopros.com) is run by Finale Labs, Inc., the company behind Theo, 169 Madison Avenue, STE 61955, New York, NY 10016. Questions about this policy go to privacy@theo.site.

What we collect

  • Quote requests: your name, email, phone number if you give it, ZIP code, the job you describe, when you want it done and the business you asked.
  • Listing claims and owner edits: the owner's name, role, email and phone, the verification code we send (stored only as a hash), and the description, photos and other details the owner adds.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location from your IP address, and device and browser type, collected by our hosting providers and by Google Analytics through cookies.
  • Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are sent by a person. It processes browser signals and your IP address.

We don't ask for payment details. If a business owner signs up for a Theo website, Theo's own privacy policy covers that account.

Information about businesses

Listings are built from public records and public sources: the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and the Contractors State License Board registers, EPA Lead-Safe certifications, OSHA inspection data, city permit records, US Census data, Google Places (shown with Google's attribution), the Better Business Bureau's public profile list and each business's own website. Some licences are held by individuals, so a listing can show a person's name as it appears on the public licence record. If something is wrong, email privacy@theo.site or claim the listing; facts from a state board can only be changed by that board.

How we use it

  • To pass your quote request to the business you chose.
  • To verify that a person claiming a listing works for that business, and to publish the details an owner adds.
  • To run, secure and improve the site, prevent spam and abuse, and understand which pages are useful.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We never use quote requests or owner details to change a business's score or position.

Who we share it with

  • The business you asked for a quote, only the details needed to answer your request.
  • Service providers that run the site for us under contract: Cloudflare (hosting, database, spam protection), Render (hosting), Resend (email) and Google (Maps and Analytics).
  • Theo, when a business owner chooses to turn their listing into a Theo website.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people from fraud or harm, and a buyer if the business is sold.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Cookies

We use cookies for Google Analytics and for Cloudflare's security checks. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. The site works without analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and claim records for as long as we need them to handle the request and for up to two years afterwards, unless the law requires longer. Owner-added listing details stay up until the owner or we remove them. Google review text and photos are re-read from Google at least every 30 days and dropped when Google no longer shows them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, you can ask to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or delete it, and you can opt out of any sale or sharing (we do neither). Email privacy@theo.site from the address you used. We confirm your identity before acting, answer within 45 days, and never treat you differently for asking. An authorised agent can ask on your behalf with your signed permission.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, verification codes are stored as hashes and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information such as financial or health details in a quote request.

Children

Theo Pros is for adults hiring contractors and isn't aimed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information; if you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll say so on the site.
