If you stay in one of their apartments they’ll wait two months to tell you about any charges, poorly document everything, slap interest and a card fee on the payment plan for the balance, and be rude. I was charged for apparently stealing a cutting board from Trestle Creek despite them not having a photo of it missing or any invoices showing the cost of replacement. I never stole a cutting board in fact I didn’t eve…

Just be prepared to be charged for anything and everything, including minor wear and tear which, under the residential landlord-tenant act cannot be charged to the tenant. But, they will do so anyways stating that the “damages” are considered above normal wear and tear. Lived at The Quarry 3 years, took care of our place, assumed all would be well upon move out. $264 billed for 2 toilet seats (which were also not dam…

I have a medically complex daughter who required surgery while we li…

Douglass Properties hit me with charges I believe go far beyond normal wear and tear, including an attempt to bill me $95 per bag of trash — a fee not in my lease and something they tried to apply retroactively. To me, this felt like a way to squeeze extra money out of tenants after move-out, and the process came across as neither transparent nor fair. I’ve rented through many companies, and this was by far the most …
