Power went out today at 7:30 pm. I checked the HECO power outage map and my location didn't seem to be affected. However my TESLA App said we weren't getting power from the grid, so I reported it. I understand Hurricane Lala can cause damage and delays. Where I live, we lost power on Saturday at 11am and we were one of the very first. Its now Monday evening going into Tuesday about 100k residences have been fixed but were still down. No hot water, food is spoiled, and no true updates by location. No real help. I had questions about my account and how to pay my bill. Felt like I was being rushed to any other outlet like I was a burden. Called to report a down wire hanging in the street, they sent someone out to fix it and then called to say "the line belongs to Hawaiian Telcom so you need to call them to come out" instead of just securing the wire hanging in the street. Pitiful and lazy... Really wish we didn't have a monopoly on power in Hawaii and there were other options.
